NTSwincash Cooperation with TU Vienna
An Austrian excellence initiative: NTS co-operates with Vienna Technical University and further develops the “NTSwincash distributor”
Vienna/Wilhering – The co-operation between the industry and research proves to be a lucrative symbiosis more and more often, for all participants profit from such co-operation. The universities can draw on the companies’ practical knowledge and the industry on the scientists’ know-how as well as on well-educated graduates. NTS New Technology Systems also participates in this knowledge exchange and has once again sent its innovation scouts to the campus of the Vienna Technical University.
The European market leader for point of service and retail management solutions is no longer an unknown presence in Austria’s research landscape and so, NTS organises regular seminars for the Higher Technical Educational Institutions (Höhere Technische Lehranstalten – HTL), participates in decisions to confer HTL-internal awards as a jury member, supports the work on interesting projects, and gives students the possibility to complete their mandatory vocational training with the company. Now, in co-operation with the Vienna Technical University NTS has started a project for the further development of the module NTSwincash distributor.
The central Release Management solution already now ensures that the NTSwincash system is always up-to-date with regard to company-wide and cross-client data. For these purposes the solution regularly compares the current state of installation to the should-be-state and updates the system with the missing software components completely automatically. This approach significantly speeds up the rollout process and the omission of costly “on-site” installations results in considerable savings.
“We started the project for further development of the NTSwincash distributor within the framework of a seminar. As it stands now, the co-operation with the students and scientists of the Vienna Technical University exceeds all our expectations”, Günther Schrammel, the CEO of NTS, appears delighted. Encouraged by this positive experience, he wants to further tighten his company’s future co-operation with the Vienna University. “Not least because the encouragement and promotion of young experts is a highly rated part of our NTS philosophy”, emphasises Schrammel.
The new version of the NTSwincash distributor will become available in September or October 2008 for the NTSwincash version 8.30 and higher.
