NTS WINCASH for o2 Shops and Agencies
Thomas Bergfeld, Business Operations at o2 (Germany) Shop GmbH (27.02.2006)
"We deploy NTSwincash POS software and retail management systems for all exclusively o2 branded outlets; and in addition to the o2 shops also all partner and franchise shops.
The NTSwincash central backoffice module thereby offers the ability to centrally control all of the around 550 cash registers. In addition to all master data, such as article data, price lists, inventory figures, suppliers, etc., we can also modify all system relevant parameters, such as cash register peripherals, various layouts and user rights up to freely composed display texts.
This technology allows us to easily and flexibly respond to any change requests from sales and marketing.
Master data are created using a tree view structure with the three distribution channels each forming a separate branch where the particular settings can be performed with a single entry for all subordinated shops.
The requirements of the various pricing models used in the distribution channels can be satisfied through dynamically adjustable discount reasons, graduated discounts, price lists, etc. Various authorisation levels, such as the discount budget function, also protect us from fraud, and the generated turnover and posting entry types such as returns, cancellations and exchanges etc. are evaluated in real-time using the NTSwincash management information system – thus allowing us to immediately respond to anything conspicuous.
NTSwincash POS software and cash registers receive all basic data, such as shop and article master data, contract details etc. loaded through interfaces from the respective ERP system (Oracle applications), fine-tuning of the sales transactions takes place in NTSwincash.
The system was initially deployed in the offline variant at partner shops with replication in the headquarters. Through the meanwhile Germany wide, full-coverage network interconnectivity also these shops were transferred to the common online system.
By using Citrix Metaframe as the application server solution the installation outlays on site could be minimised; wincash runs either as a traditional Citrix client or directly in the shop browser depending on the distribution channel."
